Introducing two of the five new Samurai 【Summer 2024 Newsletter】

Makoto Kawaguchi
Kamoi Bible Church, Yokohama

Nice to meet you! My name is Makoto Kawaguchi. I am a Samurai Projects intern at Kamoi Bible Church in Yokohama, Kanagawa Prefecture.

The reason why I joined Samurai Projects is because I came to understand clearly that “God loves Japan and has not abandoned it.” I have repented for not loving Japan and the Japanese church, and I want to experience the work God is doing through the local churches in Japan by joining Samurai Projects. I would also like to be someone who shares the blessings which I receive through the Bible classes.

At church, I am in charge of administrative work, participate in various bible study meetings, and prepare for youth and children’s meetings together with church members. I am thankful to be able to have fellowship with people of all ages.

Before joining the Samurai Projects, I worked as a nursery school teacher. Before that, I worked aboard the OM ship, Logos Hope. I enjoy meeting the unique people whom God has created and experiencing the variety in his wonderous world. I look forward to meeting you who are kindly reading this.

Kind regards.

Yu Furukawa

Hello. Nice to meet you. My name is Yu Furukawa, I was approached by a missionary on a bus in 2016 and led to where I am now. I started attending His Presence Church in January 2023. While I was praying and seeking God’s will, I was guided to the Samurai Projects during one of the sermons at church. At that time, I felt God’s leading and thought I would like to participate. Through the program, I hope to study the Bible, learn more about God, and be able to share God’s Word with others. Thank you very much for your partnership.
