After 25 years of experience in banking and securities, I started my own company creating business models for companies who want to use artificial intelligence and various related contents. My life was not religious at all, until I was baptized in my mid-50s, almost exactly one year ago on Christmas Day 2020. Looking back on my life now, I think the LORD had been preparing a way for my baptism from the age of 20.
After graduating university, during the years working at a bank and a securities company, I had some significant interactions with Christians and have been able to reunite with some of them recently over the past 5 years. This has been an important factor leading me towards baptism.
As a business owner, I was not sure if I could get rid of my anxiety, greed, and doubt, or if my actions would align with the teachings of the Bible. Also, not knowing how I’m supposed to interpret my life in the light of the Bible, was another cause of anxiety about my faith.
A good thing about participating in the Tokyo Marunouchi Partnership is that I now have a better understanding of Christianity, including its global nature.
In addition, the Tokyo Marunouchi Partnership itself has an entrepreneur spirit, and since I am also a business entrepreneur, I feel that, God willing, we might both grow together in this area.
Since I was baptized in my 50s, a realistic and logical understanding of Christianity fits me better than understanding it mystically.
For example, I have been encouraged studying Psalm 3:1-3, which says, “Lord, how many are my foes! How many rise up against me! Many are saying of me, “God will not deliver him”. But you, Lord, are a shield around me, my glory, the One who lifts my head high.”
Especially in the business world, we all have enemies and struggle with insecurities. There are many things that we cannot control. In times like that, this scripture of “God being our shield” is a big comfort and support, and the teachings of the Bible will lead us to a practical solution.
There are many people in the world who are striving to overcome difficulties. I would like to study more about the Bible in order to be of help to these people, including the many who are involved in the Tokyo Marunouchi Partnership
